Articles: Governor Perry's Islam Connection
Being a native Texas like Perry and unlike W, who came from the northeast, I don't see any real worrisome connection to islam and Perry. He is cordial but I believe his real interests are in saving the country and not with preferred treatment to any particular group. I just don't see Perry actually ever saying the words: "Islam is a religion of peace" because I think he knows it is nothing of the sort. If he does then I will admit my assessment of him having been my governor for 10 years is wrong.
