Liberals shoot the downgrade messenger
Having worked directly for an extreme liberal for a while I know exactly how they always "shoot the messenger". Bring up an issue that needs attention and they come at 'you' for merely bringing it up. All I can think is that they take it personal as an attack against their leadership when it simply is someone trying to solve a problem. By the way, once I figured this out I did not work there much longer.
